Cinnamon was surrendered to SNAFU Rescue due to family changes in her previous home and not getting along with the other resident dog in the home.

Cinnamon is a very loving, sweet and happy senior girl. She is lovingly referred to as Cinnabun with her foster mom.

She is very, very lazy and sleeps the majority of the day, so you must be okay with a lazy, couch potato dog if you are interested in adopting her!!

She seems to get along well with every human she meets, adult or child. We think she'd be fine in a household with slightly older children, maybe 5yrs and up, as long as the kids are calm and respectful toward her.

She is an older gal and would love a quieter home to enjoy her favorite past times: sleeping, eating and being loved on (esp butt scratchies!)!

Cinnamon does not prefer the company of other dogs, of any age, size or temperament, and she does her best to start fights or even just "verbal "arguments"/fights with other dogs whenever she thinks she can.

She has her own space and is kept separated from the other dogs in her foster home so as to never have the opportunity to start any physical fights with another dog, BUT she does like to curmudgeonly bark at the other dogs whenever she thinks she can get away with it!

Due to this, she will need to be placed in a home with no other dogs present and also no regular dog visitors.

She has been around cats and while she does not love their presence, she will tolerate them and will ignore them as long as they respect her personal space. She currently lives with a dog savvy cat and they co-exist together just fine without issues.

Cinnamon is 100% potty trained! She has had no accidents inside while with her foster family!

As with all of our dogs, a regular, consistent schedule will help ensure her continued success with potty training in her new home. She has also done great with crate training and sleeps quietly in her kennel during the night or when her foster family happens to leave the home. She also loves to sleep on her big fluffy bed in the kitchen - which is babygated to keep her in the kitchen area.

For her safety, we recommend that she keep a similar crating schedule or having her babygated in a dog secured area when her humans are away from the home and/or she is left unsupervised so she is safe and secure while no one is home.

Medically, Cinnamon now seems to be in great health! Cinnamon was VERY obese when she came to her foster home.

Her foster family has been working very very diligently in order to get her down to a healthy and acceptable weight.

Cinnamon has now lost 14+ pounds and her adoptive family will absolutely need to be VERY diligent about monitoring her food intake and her weight.

She does have some arthritis in a few joints and having excessive weight to carry around is very hard on her.

She walks so much better and has come to have a little more spunk and sillyness to her personality now that she is closer to a healthy weight!! She is also on a daily joint supplement to help aid with joint support (Dogzymes Phyoflex) that she will absolutely need to remain on for the remainder of her life.

Cinnamon was spayed before coming into SNAFU rescue. Upon arriving with SNAFU Rescue, she has had bloodwork ran (results came back great!), a dental and has had several "senior dog" type growths removed. None of the growths were a concern for our veterinarian but, as with any dog, she should be monitored for any new growths and have them removed at the time of a dental, IF any others should appear in the future.

She has also been updated on vaccinations/dewormings, and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian!

Cinnamon would do best in a home with few to no stairs for her to manage on a daily basis. She would not do well with a multiple floor apartment style dwelling, but would be fine with a ground level apartment.

She is excellent about going out to potty but stairs are difficult for her due to her age, arthritis and short stumpy legs.

She does not require a fenced yard as short, leashed walks or leashed trips out in the yard would be fine for her.

She doesn't prefer to spend much time outside unless her people are out in the yard hanging out with her.

We also think she'd love to go work with her new family if they wanted to take her with them to the office (as long as she had her own area/no other dogs would be present). She is a quiet girl, and loves to just hang out near her people! If not, she's completely happy sleeping the day away in her kennel or on a fluffy dog bed in a secured area!

If you feel like your family might be the perfect forever home for Cinnamon, please submit an adoption application for her today!!
